Looking at other participants' profiles

What do you think?

Deadline: Thursday, 23rd October: 23:59!

React

Go to your group pages. Take a look at your group members' profiles by clicking on their names. Reflect on what information they have added that you did not, considering how useful these additions may be to developing a successful partnership. Then consider the images your partners uploaded. What additional information does this add to your understanding of them?

Post your observations and reflections as a comment on your group pages, or, if you wish, also go to other groups and contribute as you see fit.

After looking through all of the group members’ profiles it was interesting to see how everyone was a bit different with the same guidelines. Some participants had balance between professionally information and personal notes. Some people gave very little to no personal information. Some people had way to much personal information and very little professional information, like me. Some people did not even list what they actually did at work. And one person did not list anything, so other than a name, I do not know anything about them. Any information is helpful to try and understand something about the individual, and it was nice to be able to see images on the computer that they wanted to share. As an artist and instructor of photo I can see which people have used photos extensively by the attention to light and composition, and to the technical side of things by the size of the images they posted. It was a great learning exercise to participate in. Joe Z.

Hi there:
Only four people in my group completed their profile. I believe that although we come from different places we all have in common that we all like to partner and collaborate with colleagues and students from other places in the world. After looking at Judith profile I think I should have uploaded more pictures that represent more accurately my eclectic interests.

Thank you both, Joe and Gina!

Please make sure that you leave your comments within your group as well.

To that effect you need to either scroll down to "Task 1" or select "Task 1" on the right hand side of the main/this screen.

Then click on your Group and use the commenting function that is part of the page that will pop up ;-

I have enjoyed reading about the people in my group. seeing a picture is also very helpful. I am not yet doing COIL work myself, but our uni has several active staff in other groups who have had a successful project. I have Brazilian students here too via Erasmus and they work hard and are very pleasant people on the whole. Some have better English than our Scots students, which is interesting.
